Ken at Creativity Man.com  made a list of the things he would do differently, if he had to do it all over again.

And, being one who believes we can always learn from the past, I played along.  Here’s what I came up with.

If I had to do it all over again…

1.  I would have taken more ’fun’ classes.  Instead, my focus was on my skill sets.  I took classes like Typing (I, II & III).  Gregg Shorthand, Machine Shorthand (court reporting).  Accounting, Algebra I & II.  Programming.

2.  I would have taken more science classes.  Anything that dealt with nature.  I would have pursued a nature career.  My maternal grandfather was a conservationist, and much of what I know, I learned from him.

3.  I would have learned to sing.  I was terribly shy, though, and didn’t have the courage to let my voice be heard.  (I’ve only recently let others know I can sing.)

 4.  I’d have learned to play several instruments.  Perhaps every instrument known to mankind, and in every continent.  Even the didgeridoo of Australia.

I’m fascinated at the beautiful sounds a true musician can create.

My paternal grandfather (pictured above in photo) was a musician.  My recently retired father volunteers locally, sharing his gift of music with others.

Now, looking back does no good, unless we learn from it. So, I’ll be back to share with you a bit more about this.

In the meantime, what is it you’d do differently?

Post your thoughts in the Comments section below.  Tell me more about you. And, I want *you* to know more about you, too.

Because that’s how creative careers are ‘unearthed,’ so to speak. :-)
