I’m not one to make New Year’s resolutions…

I’m not sure why, exactly.  I know it just works better for me to slowly make changes when I need to make them, rather than setting a particular date to it, such as January 1.

I do enjoy looking back over the past year, though, to see if I missed anything along the way.  It helps me reprioritize things in my life, if need be.

I mentioned my interest in soapmaking a few months ago.  (Photo above reflects my most recent creations.)

Well, I have an idea, related to my soaping (one that threatens to keep me awake at night!)

I’ve given myself permission to spend the next 6 to 8 months researching my idea, to see if it could ‘fly.’  I also want to play more with my soaps to see what I can do with them.  It’s my dessert, my added incentive, for working so hard.  We all need dessert from time to time (smile).

Allowing myself that time will help me make a decision on whether my idea is feasible, or if it’s just a creative phase I’m going through.  (Can you relate?  Have you been there?)

On looking back, if you just joined us here at the blog, you can catch the highlights from the past few months here.  (I rounded up these *lessons learned* for a group project over at my friend, Robert’s, blog.)  (You’ll be surprised what you may learn about me!)

In gathering up my lessons learned, I realized, all over again, how much I enjoy writing and blogging here.  So, enjoy the highlights.

Speaking of blogging and writing…  I think it was Chris Garrett over at chrisg.com who said that some websites are liked. Others are loved.  But, the most successful websites are needed.

As for me, I hope my blog will become all three things to you over time, as you get to know me better.  Kinda selfish of me, maybe, but there it is.  :-)

What special moments or highlights would you like to share about this past year of your life?  Anything you’ve given yourself permission to pursue in 2008?
