Ghostwriting: A Career for Introverts Who Enjoy Writing - Part 6
Why Create Your Own Niche in Ghostwriting?
In Part 5, you brainstormed for topics you enjoy reading. (Did you do your homework?)
Go ahead and pull out the list you created on topics you’re interested in.
Now, here’s why these topics are so important to you…
1) They show your interest in particular areas.
2) Because you read on these topics, you have gained special knowledge.
You see, you know much more about these topics than you realize. Chances are, you know much more about your favorite topic(s) than most folks do.
That gives you an “in.” Over time, you can even begin to specialize. Say, for example, you learn to actually enjoy writing special reports. Or, you could keep to writing only articles, too.
Whatever it is you write, word of mouth will get around in the internet marketing circles. You’ll develop a reputation based on the quality of your work, and the topics you ’specialize’ in.
And, that’s how you create your career writing from home. You simply begin to meet the growing need for articles and reports. You become part of the circle in creating content for these internet marketers who need lots of content to place on their sites or send out to their subscribers.
The demand for good ghostwriters is a large one, and it’s not going anywhere soon.
You don’t have to worry about having a college degree or going back to school. If you love to write, you’ll likely find a natural fit in ghostwriting.
You can start right where you are, and grow into it as you learn more about ghostwriting. You can even start your ghostwriting home business part time, and choose if/when you’re ready to ghostwrite full time from home.
Of course, ghostwriting isn’t for everyone. You’ll need to learn those things you must know in order to create a full or part-time at-home career for yourself.
The main requirement for getting into ghostwriting is an enjoyment of writing.
You see, first you write up some tips. Then, you can simply take those tips you write, expand on them, and convert them into full-length articles.
Okay, it’s time to do a bit more homework. It’ll be fun, (and free) — I promise! Go to the Moms Network and sign up for any of the free tips you have an interest in. You’ll find lots of topics over on the left-hand side of the page — under the “Great, Free Information” section.
Study the tips you receive after you subscribe. These tips will give you a good idea of the topics that are popular (which means internet marketers will be looking for articles and tips related to these topics.) If you can write simple tips like those, then you’re on your way to writing your first article.

Hi, Trent ~ Welcome! You ask a great question (no need to be a sahm - writing is for anyone who enjoys it!)
Writing is such a huge topic, Trent, but if I were to keep it simple, I’d recommend first making a list of topics you’re interested, or feel you have a good knowledge of. Then break those into subtopics and begin writing around those you feel truly passionate about.
See whether you’re enjoying it. If so, then learn more about ghostwriting, blogging, etc. (So many ways to share your writing!) When something sparks more ideas and energizes you, go for it!
Joanna Young at http://www.confidentwriting.com has an awesome site and may be an excellent resource for the writer in you.
Please pop me an email if you have any other specific questions I might answer for you. Nice to meet you, Trent!
