Natural Gifts

If you were asked to name your very own special talents, could you do it?  How about your strengthsYour gifts

You know, our gifts are not always recognized in the workplace.  Employers and bosses don’t always focus on our positive traits.  And, sadly, they take time out during performance reviews to share our weaknesses with us, in hopes that we’ll focus on, and spend energy on, ’improving’ those alleged weaknesses.

Unfortunately, we don’t always recognize those traits that make us so very wonderful and unique, either.  So, we can’t totally blame others, now can we?  (smile)

Sarah Dolliver of http://www.innervantage.com/ has been down this road, too.  Here’s what she has to say…

“Your gifts, strengths and talents are there inside you, like a wrapped package just waiting to be opened.”

Sarah puts out a free newsletter that’s written just for introverts.  Sarah “gets” those of us who have introvert tendencies (those of us who are *inner-directed* – as Sarah puts it).  You may enjoy her newsletter.  I know I do.  (Her signup box is at the upper left corner of her main site page.)

So, what does this have to do with finding a creative career?

Learning to recognize, honor and use your unique strengths and gifts can help you move closer to a career you can love.

Tapping into who you are — and what you’re all about – can help you steer clear of jobs and careers that don’t suit you.  And, knowing your own uniqueness can keep you from *settling.*

After all, how will you find that career or job that makes your heart sing, if you’re still settling for second best?

I understand *settling* very well, because I’ve been there.  And more than once.  :-)

How about you?  Are you ready to open up that package that is uniquely you — and see what’s inside?  What will you discover?

Which of your strengths, talents and gifts are you already aware of?  Share them with us here, if you’d like, in the comments section.
