An Obsession, a Disability, And An Imagination
The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.
~Winston Churchill~
I confess, I haven’t always been one to see the opportunity in a difficulty. It has taken some time — and much careful thought — to learn how I might respond to difficulties in a completely different manner. I like to think I’ve become an optimist.
I mention ‘careful thought’ because, until I recognized how I perceived challenges as negative things, I wasn’t able to make changes.
We can see how much we’ve grown when we can accept the challenge for what it is, rather than a negative. It simply *is* what it is. This frees us up to consider how we might transform the challenge into an opportunity.
It requires practice, of course. But, wow, it is ever so worth it!
Can you relate?
I bring up the subject because negativity from challenges can be so pervasive. It affects us, even if we’re not aware of it. Perhaps that’s why I love stories that speak of rising above the challenges. Stories of those who have found opportunity in the midst of difficulty.
If you’ve ever been challenged by a difficulty, Anthony’s story will inspire you. Anthony’s is the story of an obsession, a disability, and an imagination — all working together in harmony. You can’t help but be inspired by Anthony’s story!
How about you? What challenges do you see that could actually be opportunities in disguise?

Dar,
Thank you for addressing this. ONLY recently have I been aware that my view point affects how I feel about situations in my life. It seems Anthony just loved what he was doing and let it bloom from there.

Hi, Cee So good to see you again! I think finding opportunity in difficulty is a bit like a journey. And we’re sure to get lots of practice along life’s journey.
Anthony is indeed an inspiration. He’s blooming where he was planted, isn’t he? I can picture each of us here, blooming in our own way, each where we are planted. What fun!
